We are pleased to announce, along with Special Olympics Ontario, the 2022 Knights of Columbus Virtual Flag Relay for Special Olympics. The purpose of the Knights of Columbus Flag Relay is to both raise public awareness of Special Olympics and to support the athletes in communities throughout Ontario.
For the past two years we were unable to conduct our annual Flag Relay in-person due to Covid. Even though Ontario is opening up, it has been decided to continue with a virtual Flag Relay again this year.
The purpose of the Knights of Columbus Flag Relay is to both raise public awareness of Special Olympics and to support the athletes in communities throughout Ontario.
The Knights of Columbus has a unique partnership with Special Olympics and has helped disabled athletes train for and compete in games around the world. Knights of Columbus councils have assisted with all aspects of the program from fundraising to feeding the athletes, organizing and judging events, and providing equipment and awards. Without the support of the Knights, participants would not be able to train for the events that they love.
We invite you, your family and friends to go to the website and sign the virtual flag to show your support for the Special Olympics athletes in Ontario. You will also find on the website the Special Olympics activities that are taking place throughout the province, along with the opportunity to support your local Special Olympics community with a donation.
