Our annual Advent Food Drive received a great boost the first week with our largest donation to date. Jenny, granddaughter of Brother Knight Marcel Zwolman took it upon herself to ask for non-perishable food donations for her 5th birthday instead of gifts for herself. Her friends and family were asked to celebrate her birthday with drive-by birthday wishes and to drop off donations into her own little food bank wagon which quickly overflowed.
We thank Jenny for her thoughtfulness and caring and her incredible gift of charity and hope in the Advent season. Her donation has already been delivered to the Milton Food Bank and is being distributed to those in need. We awarded Jenny with a special certificate of thanks and appreciation for being an example to all of us and thinking of others ahead of herself.
