One Million Coats Donated!

Knights of Columbus celebrates the distribution of more than 1 million coats through the flagship Coats for Kids program

Since Coats for Kids launched in 2009, Knights have distributed over 1 million coats in 49 U.S. states and all 10 Canadian provinces — including on U.S. military bases and Native American and First Nation reservations in the U.S. and Canada.

In cold-weather regions throughout the United States and Canada, children from many different backgrounds will have a warmer winter this year thanks to the Knights’ program. Some coats go to low-income families. Others go to members of Native American and First Nations communities. Still more coats go to immigrants, refugees and the homeless. Last year, in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the program expanded to Poland and Ukraine to address the urgent needs of displaced families.

“The Coats for Kids program has become synonymous with the Knights of Columbus mission of charity, as first established by our Founder, Blessed Michael McGivney, more than 140 years ago,” said Supreme Knight Kelly. “The generosity of our donors and the work of our local councils to distribute one million coats to some great kids in need is proof that where there’s a need, there’s a Knight.

The Holy Rosary Knights of Columbus are proud to be part of the Coats for Kids Program and has donated hundreds of coats to local children in Milton.
